One of the leading marketing, investment, and distribution organisation, headquartered in Hong Kong with offices across Asia initiated Robotic Process Automation project to automate the process of Financial Statement Preparation through different sources and applications. The goal of the project was to automate one of the most labour-intensive and time-consuming back office functions by reducing processing time and improving operational efficiency. Brought to the production robot delivered tremendous results by improving operational efficiency of the target process by more than 500% and enabled the business to greater manage financial related functions.

RPA Use Case Scope:

  • Process name: Financial Statement Preparation;
  • Involved applications: 2 core systems, Shared Drive, MS Excel, corporate e-email client;
  • RPA Platform: UiPath;
  • RPA deployment setup: unattended automation.

Key implemented robot's capabilities:

  • Launching different core-systems and downloading reports for the respective period, reviewing and validating the required files from the Shared Drive as per defined business rules;
  • Performing calculations according to defined financial rules and sending out the 1st intermediate report via e-mail to responsible business users;
  • Consolidating the obtained results from different sources and applications, performing calculations in accordance with established business rules and preparing consolidated report with sale financial indicators for respective period;
  • Saving the prepared reports on Shared Drive for further processing by business users.
